Project Description

Windmill Testing

To realize the planned North Sea wind parks, big investments in R&D and production sites are undertaken.

VLS Heavy Lifting was assigned to plan and install a load test setup in Cuxhaven (Germany), in order to simulate the various cyclic movements of a windmill during stormy weather. The objective in half a year testing with 1.200.000 cycles is, to measure the impact force and reactions on the seabed beneath the gravity foundation on a full-scale mock-up.

To reach this ambitious velocity, two SLU  580 are loaded by hydraulic pumps which deliver up to 520 liters of oil per minute. A fully automated control system offers an easy and safe handling for our costumer. Over a web-based application VSL is able to monitor and control the system live from afar.

The complete jobreport will be available soon.
