Project Description

The Scottish National Arena is currently under construction. It will be the largest indoor arena in Scotland with a seating capacity for 12,000 spectators. The circular auditorium has a domed roof with a clear span of 120m and will be a landmark for Glasgow hosting concerts, conferences and events. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games it’s one of the main stadiums.

VSL Heavy Lifting was awarded with the contract consisting of three parts:

1. Lifting of the roof steel structure
2. Load transfer of the roof on permanent bearing
3. Lifting of the light ring.

VSL Heavy Lifting sucessfully conducted the awarded operations as scheduled.
