Erection of temporary towers for the installation of the 380m arch


The 2,091m-long Bugrinsky Bridge is the third crossing over the Ob River in Novosibirsk. Several aspects of the bridge`s design and construction are unique. The length of the main arch span - 380m - is impressive; it also stands an imposing 70m in height. 

VSL was awarded the supply of the stay cables as well as the supervision of their installation. In additon, the erection of the two temporary towers supporting the main arch during construction was assigned to VSL Heavy Lifting. The 60m-high supporting towers were assembled by lifting them, segment by segment. Each weighed up to 305t.
