FIRST PRIORITY OF VSL IS

THE SAFETY OF PEOPLE, COMPONENTS AND THE ENVIRONMENT.

Quality Management

VSL adheres to corporate principles on trust and respect for the individual and undertakes its business with uncompromising integrity. VSL is committed to conduct its business in a manner that delivers leading environmental, health and safety performance.  The quality, safety and environmental performance are one of the key strengths of VSL Heavy Lifting.

All activities are based on the following Certificates:

  • ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management System
  • OSHAS 18001: 2007 Occupational Health & Safety Administration
  • ISO 14001: 2004 Environmental Management System

Health and Safety

VSL Heavy Lifting top priority is the health and safety of its workforce and everyone else potentially affected by the activities. Our approach meets international standards and we are going routinely well beyond local requirements and expectations on all our construction sites worldwide.

The whole VSL-Group is following this attitude. Regularly safety-days have been always a routine. In 2009 the first group- and world-wide safety day with the theme “risk identification and risk control” took place with the aim of improving safety standards and taking appropriate preventive actions.

We are proud on improving always our standards and getting better every day.

Environment and Sustainable Development

Sustainability addresses social and cultural issues, economic constraints and the need to maintain or improve the quality of the environment. Sustainability means meeting the needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own.

This approach is part of the VSL Heavy Lifting way of doing business:

  • Providing safer methods of construction
  • Showing ways of using fewer scarce resources and less energy
  • Causing less pollution and producing less waste.

How are we doing this?

The heavy lifting technique itself is contributing to reduce material usage and environmental impact. In addition it’s saving time and improves safety due to the possibility of constructions or assemblies close to the ground.

Another advantage of VSL Heavy Lifting is to be part of a worldwide network with the potential of sharing material and reusing for example tailor-made gantries. This adds to a reduction of material input and a cut back of transport distances.

VSL Heavy Lifting is benefiting from the experiences of all VSL units due to a company wide health, safety and environmental policy with a close and intensive intercommunication.

VSL Heavy Lifting – key partner for sustainability.
